On January 5, 2026, Ms. Kang Yan, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Slovenia, presented the copy of her credentials to Ms. Nataša Prah, Head of Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.

Ambassador Kang noted that it is a great honor to be accredited by President Xi Jinping as the Chinese Ambassador to Slovenia. She stated that China is striving to build itself into a great modern socialist country in all respects through the Chinese path to modernization, and the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan will provide new opportunities for common development of Slovenia and countries around the world. She promised to work with Slovenian friends to further deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, promote the sustained, sound and stable development of bilateral relations.

Prah warmly welcomed Ambassador Kang on her assumption of office and expressed readiness to facilitate her duties. She stressed that Slovenia attaches great importance to relations with China and stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation across all fields.
