This marks Slovenia’s debut in the Panda bond market, making Slovenia the first Central and Eastern European country in the euro area to issue a Panda bond. The successful issuance is a landmark achievement in financial cooperation between China and Slovenia, and a vivid example of growing practical financial cooperation between China and European countries.

Panda bonds are renminbi-denominated bonds issued by non-Chinese entities in China’s domestic market. Amid heightened volatility in global markets, China’s renminbi bond market has become an important option for overseas issuers seeking to broaden funding channels and diversify financing currencies.
