On April 20, 2026, Ambassador Kang Yan visited Celje, met with Mayor Matija Kovač and Deputy Mayor Samo Seničar. 

Both sides expressed the common aspiration to further enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and deepen practical cooperation among cities.

Ambassador Kang Yan donated books to the Chinese Corner at the Celje Central Library.
