On July 16, 2026, Ambassador Kang Yan visited the Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, where she exchanged views with the Director, Dr. Leon Cizelj, on deepening scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges between China and Slovenia.

Ambassador Kang spoke highly of the cooperation between the Jožef Stefan Institute and Chinese universities and research institutions in fields such as artificial intelligence and advanced materials. She noted that during the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, China would implement a more open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial international science and technology cooperation strategy, and work with countries around the world, including Slovenia, to build a global science and technology community.

Director Leon Cizelj outlined the Institute’s key research priorities and existing cooperation with Chinese partners. He highly commended China’s remarkable achievements in scientific and technological innovation and expressed his willingness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China.
